Dubai offers travellers and locals an array of experiences, attractions and activities – some of which you cannot experience anywhere else in the world – that captivate those who visit the magical city.
Home to the tallest building in the world, a stunning man-made island, and being one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, it is understandable why travellers are so enamoured by and attracted to Dubai.
Water Parks and Theme Parks
Dubai has a huge variety of both theme parks and water parks – with more opening in the near future. However, there are a couple that stand out from the crowd.
Aquaventure – located at Atlantis, The Palm – is a Dubai water park that shouldn’t be missed. Made up of two exciting areas – The Tower of Poseidon and The Tower of Neptune – each area has a number of thrilling rides that will make you scream. To name just a couple of the rides that are very popular, you shouldn’t miss out on the Leap of Faith and monstrous Aquaconda.
On the theme park front, you should make time to spend a day at SEGA Republic, an amazing indoor theme park located at Dubai Mall that includes 15 thrilling attractions and 170 different games that families can enjoy together.
An Array of Souks
Souks are open-air market places or commercial quarters that can be found in Wester Asian and North African cities.
Dubai is home to a number of souks that sell an array of products to locals and tourist at very reasonable prices, making it the place to go if you are looking to pick up a bargain or two.
Jewellery (and gold-lovers in general) will not believe their eyes when visiting the Gold Souk. As one of Dubai’s most popular souks, gold-lovers can indulge in a number of shiny trinkets, jewels and gemstones at affordable prices.
For travellers who love to indulge in all things to do with food, the Spice Souk will be right up your alley. Located right next door to the Gold Souk, the Spice Souk is filled to the brim with colourful sacks of spices and herbs, fresh fruit and vegetables, and delicious dates!
Some of Dubai’s other souks include: Perfume Souk, Textile Souk, the Souk Al Bahar, the Dubai Mall Souk and the Souk Madinat.

The museum also exhibits a mock souk, exhibits demonstrating Bedouin life in the desert, and archaeological findings from a number of excavation sites.
